All persons, whether volunteer or paid, who will be working with children and teens must be screened before having access to the youth.

Screening may be done through the one of the two organizations that are recommended by The Guide One Center for Risk Management, an organization dedicated to helping churches, faith-based schools, and senior living communities safeguard their organizations.

Trak-1 is a nation-wide program that provides instant access to background records through its comprehensive and innovative online screening systems.

Another service available in California is Live Scan. This system utilizes finger-printing for identification verification. Research has shown that the database they tap into for the criminal record check is not as comprehensive as the Trak-1 system.  Live Scan" is a finger-printing service available through the California Department of Justice.
