| Season for Non-Violence Ceremonies |
“As part of her community’s observance of the Gandhi King Chavez Season for Non-Violence, Rev. Georgia Prescott of the Center for Spiritual Awareness has written a series of apologies to Native Americans Native Americans/Mexican Americans, African Americans, the LGBT community, people of Middle Eastern ancestry, women, men, children and a final one to those not forgotten. Referring to Marianne Williamson in Illuminata,
Rev. Georgia wrote, “She writes about the healing power of apologies to entire groups of people. She recognizes that hearing an honest and heartfelt apology (even one given by representatives of perpetrators) can open the heart of those who've been trespassed against for greater healing and forgiveness and perhaps even to prepare one to see the spiritual gifts of the wrong against them. Believing this to be so, I have written [these] apologies…We will read one each Sunday throughout the Season. We will invite any members of these communities who wish to receive an amends to stand while two members of the congregation come to the platform to read the apology. I plan to advertise who will be addressed each week and invite members of the congregation to invite friends and co-workers from these groups. It's a nice way to increase diversity in your community.”

| How to Green Your Spiritual Community |
| This document contains dozens of practical suggestions for Ministers, Practitioners, and Congregants for Greening not only their spiritual communities, but responsibly greening their individual lives as well! We teach that our lives outpicture our consciousness, and this holds true for the life of our spiritual community as well!
As the Global Heart Vision emerges in the world, it is our responsibility to be conscious stewards of the environment and preserve the sanctity of Creation. We see a world that has a renewed emphasis on beauty, nature, and love…. As we apply spiritual principles to our relationship with the earth, we treat All of Life as sacred. We encourage individuals and our spiritual communities to apply the following suggestions for “Greening our Spiritual Communities” in order to demonstrate local and global stewardship.

| Spiritual Advocacy Training Manual |
| The work of the Social Issues Committee is to identify local and global issues that are relevant to a world that works for everyone, to apply spiritual principles and move forward into appropriate action.
Because we see a world free of homelessness, racism, violence, war, hunger, separation and disenfranchisement, the sacred intentions of this Committee are:
- To respect and preserve the dignity of every being, to universally ensure human rights, to promote freedom of expression, and freedom in all its forms.
- To be conscious stewards of the environment and preserve the sanctity of creation.
- To develop and engage in activities that cooperate with the laws of nature allowing the earth to return to its natural state of being.
- To dedicate ourselves to support all efforts that uphold and spread peace through nonviolence and cooperation.
- To align, integrate and co-create with others of like mind.
We believe all humans are instruments in creating a world that works for everyone.
The Social Issues Committee is dedicated to create and support activities both locally and globally, which implement and fulfill these sacred intentions. We envision the emergence of the Global Heart to balance and guide the further evolution of humanity.
Responding to an issue or an ALERT! Takes many forms: writing a letter, sending email to Listserves, making phone calls, testifying, asking others to write letters, speaking at a church or community event about public policy and much more. The difference between social issues spiritual advocates from others, is that their advocacy is based on the above principles.
This manual outlines the steps of an enjoyable adult learning experience available to community members and friends. The training is to be led by an experienced community member who has responsibility for and/or experience in public policy. In addition to the meeting format, the manual includes appendices that provide detailed information for the presenter, sample materials and checklists to promote advocate training.
At the completion of this training, participants will have specific knowledge about:
- Why UCSL communities encourage involvement in public policy advocacy
- What public policy is and is not
- The important role of citizen advocates
- How well-trained advocates can make a difference, locally and globally

| Project Bearhugs |
This is a magnificent project that starts on Thanksgiving and ends on Valentine's Day, when Teddy Bears are hugged and blessed and infused with love each Sunday. They are eventually delivered to Hospice patients, their caregivers, and their friends and family.
What a wonderful way to manifest the principle: Science of Mind affirms the Absolute Reality of God, the unity, divinity, and sacredness of all life, the inherent wholeness and worth of each person, and right of each to the good of life. We believe in the incarnation of the Spirit in us, and that all people are incarnations of the One Spirit.
Out of this principle, Operation Bearhugs was born!
“From your loving heart…
To our very special bears…
To those on their final journey..."

| Sister Cities International |
This project inspires us to reach out and connect with and support a Sister City across the globe and gives us information as to how to do so.
We know that deep within every person the Divine pattern of perfect peace is inherent, emanating from the God within. Peace is the Spiritual Unity bridging diversity and unifying all of creation. In a world that works for everyone, each of us is an instrument of peace.
The mission of Sister Cities International is to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, & cooperation - one individual, one community at a time." --( Sister Cities International, December 2005.) |
