FAITH:
THE FOUNDATION OF PRAYER As
Religious Scientists, we have an exciting tool that sets us
apart from other New Thought movements, and that tool is
Spiritual Mind Treatment. Simply
put, Spiritual Mind Treatment is an affirmative prayer,
spoken in a specific manner and in the faith that it is done
unto us as we believe. To
be an effective tool for true change, I believe that faith
must be the foundation of treatment.
Faith allows us to speak our word from a deep spiritual
belief in the individual creative process which is based on
the recognition of God's Infinite Self-givingness and the
precise and infallible action of the Law. Faith
is not a passive or simple belief. It is an active knowing.
It is an attitude of the mind and the soul. Faith is the
result of knowledge and unwavering belief and conviction in
the perfect operation of spiritual laws. When
you know and understand the laws of the spiritual universe,
you have faith they will work on your behalf.
When
you do not know spiritual laws, you place your faith in the
belief that something or someone outside of yourself is the
cause of what is happening or not happening in your
life. Faith
empowers us to act, to transform and to create. Our actions
demonstrate our faith by creating a reality in which that
belief is made manifest. If we want to see where we have
placed our faith, we just need to look at our
lives. To
change our lives, we employ the power of faith through
Spiritual Mind Treatment to create a deliberate movement of
thought in our own consciousness.
We release the old belief that is no longer working and
replace it with a new belief based on spiritual
principle. We
know that God as Love gives all to all and to all alike; we
know what the God as Law always produces that which we most
deeply believe. We become co-creators in our lives as we
consciously choose what we shall put into the Law.
As
we imbue our consciousness with an active faith of the
wholeness and perfection at the core of our being, faith
becomes the fuel for the treatments that transform our
lives.
